Clinical Nutrition

Clinical nutrition is the study of the relationship between food and a healthy you in a clinical setting – how nutrients are digested, absorbed, transported, stored and eliminated by the body. What we eat impacts our risk of developing major chronic diseases – heart disease, obesity, cancer and diabetes (just to name a few). Health is not just the absence of symptoms. We have been conditioned to believe that absence of symptoms indicates a healthy, balanced, and thriving body. This is not always the case.

How often have you heard about people who were “completely healthy” and suddenly died of a heart attack? Cancer is another silent killer where the disease has most likely taken many years to develop, but by the time it is discovered it feels as if the symptoms just set in overnight. Obviously the patients with cancer have not been “healthy” from a scientific and diagnostic perspective, yet they probably felt healthy because they were most likely symptom free for years.

Symptoms, or the absence of symptoms, cannot be used as a guide to whether you are healthy or sick. Applied Kinesiology based techniques and lab testing procedures that are aimed at assessing the function of the various organs and cells within your body are the only way to determine health. Dr Clouthier also uses lab and diagnostic testing inside and outside of his office, when necessary to help further assess health status.

Dr. Clouthier uses whole food nutrition, homeopathic, herbal and other natural remedies to help improve his patients’ health naturally. Dr. Clouthier can help restore your health on a cellular level. We offer an array of supplements and other remedies to aid in the correction of underlying health problems (when applicable). We listen to what your goals and needs are. Everyone is individually assessed. Dr. Clouthier works extensively with athletes of all levels to maximize performance and minimize damaging.
